Dr John Keogh is a barrister, mediator and arbitrator. He has been awarded Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD) by UTS Sydney. Honoured as the UTS “Graduate of the Year” for 1999. Thesis title: Environmental Due Diligence – Legal Principles, Corporate Strategies.
He has been an arbitration and mediation member of the NSW Workers Compensation Commission since its inception. He has extensive experience in the investigation and determination of disputes as an arbitrator and mediator.
His professional practice include:
- 1990 – 2010 Barrister at Law: Practising in Sydney as a Barrister of the Supreme Court of NSW, specialising in property and commercial law.
- 2001 – 2010 Supreme Court of NSW: Appointed to the Court’s Mediation and Neutral Evaluation Panel.
- 1995 – 2010 Land and Environmental Court of New South Wales: Mediation Panel.
- 2001 – 2010 District Court of NSW: Appointed to the Court’s Mediation Panel.
- 2002 – 2010 Local Court of NSW: Appointed to the Court’s Arbitration Panel.
- 2002 – 2010 Workers Compensation Commission: Appointed to the NSW Workers Compensation Commission to provide arbitration and mediation services.
- 1992 – 1997 Residential Tenancies Tribunal: Appointed as part-time member; jurisdiction was expanded to include strata titles and retirement villages. Numerous decisions published.
- 1995 – 2010 Farm Debt Mediation Panel: Rural Assistance Authority of NSW.
- 2009 – 2010 Retail Tenancy Unit, NSW Government: Appointed to the Mediation Panel.
- 1993 – 2010 LEADR: Member of Advanced Panel of Dispute Resolvers. Nationally accredited mediator.
